Sterling Whirlpools

Sterling Whirlpool
In an effort to provide customers with increased levels of comfort and relaxation, Sterling has enhanced a number of product features within its whirlpool baths and bath/showers, including a stronger, pre-mounted pump and new whirlpool jets. These new upgrades and amenities in our most popular whirlpool baths deliver added value and comfort. Below are some of the frequently asked questions regarding this new whirlpool program.

Visual comparison between old and new whirlpools

Why is Sterling upgrading their whirlpools?
The new line of whirlpools will provide Sterling customers with a ready-to-install solution at a competitive price.

What are the upgrades in Sterling whirlpools?
Whirlpool Pump
The new line of Sterling whirlpools comes with a factory installed, more powerful pump. Specifications are 120 Volts, 7.0 Amp and 60 Hertz. New technology enables this compact, self-draining pump to provide a strong, steady level of hydro-massage while remaining quiet.
Whirlpool Jets
The new models also have an air actuated pneumatic switch. Designed to coordinate with the color of the whirlpool bath, the color-matched jets are factory-installed and easy to maneuver. Each jet is independently adjustable, rotating a full 360 degrees and is directionally adjustable to any angle.

What are the models included in the upgrade?
The upgraded models are the Ensembles (Series 7610 and 7611) and the Tranquilities (Series 6605 and 7605). Sterling has also added the Acclaim (Series 7609) as part of this new offering.

What happened to the models that were not upgraded?
Several models were discontinued because the old 4-jet models could not be UL certified. Old whirlpool models are not available for sale, but Sterling will continue to service old whirlpools that are installed, per our warranty.

Can I return the old model whirlpool?
Bathing and showering fixtures made of Vikrell, including new and old model whirlpools, are not eligible for returns.

What should I do if I need to service a discontinued or old whirlpool model?
The procedure to service the discontinued models is the same as the new models. Customers should contact their customer service representative to request any warranty or replacement parts at 1-800-STERLING.

Where can I find technical specifications and part numbers for both the old and the new models?
Technical information for all whirlpools can be found on our Web site. How will I know if the whirlpool I have is an old or new model? Distributors and installers will receive the new whirlpools in a new package (inverted shoebox concept). The whirlpool system has a lighter, more powerful pump that is factory installed and pre-mounted to the shell. For end-users the only visible difference is the new jet face, suction cover and air switch. Please see the visual comparison below.

Vikrell
Have changes been made to the warranty of the new whirlpool models?
No. Sterling maintains and stands behind its 10-year consumer and 3-year commercial limited warranty for whirlpools made of Vikrell. Pumps will continue to have a 1-year limited warranty.

Have the overall dimensions of each model changed?

Does the pump remain inside the whirlpool rim in all the new models?

Can I still get a drain-end pump option with the new whirlpools?
The drain-end pump (DEP) option is still offered in the 60x42 Tranquility swirl gloss and high gloss drop-in whirlpools. No other models have a DEP option.

Do any of the new whirlpools require a special drain?
