What are the models included in the upgrade?
The upgraded models are the Ensembles (Series 7610 and 7611) and the Tranquilities (Series 6605 and 7605). Sterling has also added the Acclaim (Series 7609) as part of this new offering.
What happened to the models that were not upgraded?
Several models were discontinued because the old 4-jet models could not be UL certified. Old whirlpool models are not available for sale, but Sterling will continue to service old whirlpools that are installed, per our warranty.
Can I return the old model whirlpool?
Bathing and showering fixtures made of Vikrell, including new and old model whirlpools, are not eligible for returns.
What should I do if I need to service a discontinued or old whirlpool model?
The procedure to service the discontinued models is the same as the new models. Customers should contact their customer service representative to request any warranty or replacement parts at 1-800-STERLING.
Where can I find technical specifications and part numbers for both the old and the new models?
Technical information for all whirlpools can be found on our Web site. How will I know if the whirlpool I have is an old or new model? Distributors and installers will receive the new whirlpools in a new package (inverted shoebox concept). The whirlpool system has a lighter, more powerful pump that is factory installed and pre-mounted to the shell. For end-users the only visible difference is the new jet face, suction cover and air switch. Please see the visual comparison below.
Have changes been made to the warranty of the new whirlpool models?
No. Sterling maintains and stands behind its 10-year consumer and 3-year commercial limited warranty for whirlpools made of Vikrell. Pumps will continue to have a 1-year limited warranty.
Have the overall dimensions of each model changed?
No. Rough-in and finished dimensions for all whirlpools remain the same. The new Acclaim whirlpool rough-in and finished dimensions are the same as the regular Acclaim bath/shower.
Does the pump remain inside the whirlpool rim in all the new models?
Yes. STERLING whirlpools do not require any adjustments in the framing for installation purposes.
Can I still get a drain-end pump option with the new whirlpools?
The drain-end pump (DEP) option is still offered in the 60x42 Tranquility swirl gloss and high gloss drop-in whirlpools. No other models have a DEP option.
Do any of the new whirlpools require a special drain?
No. The special drain overflow has been eliminated from all models for easier installation.
Is Sterling offering front access panel in any of the integral apron models?
No. All STERLING models require to create a side access for servicing purposes.
What electrical service is requires for the new Sterling whirlpools? How is this different from the old system? The electrical service required for the new pumps is 120 Volt, 15 Amp, 60 Hertz, which is the same as the old system.
Can I add an upgrade package to my Sterling whirlpool?
STERLING whirlpools do not offer any upgrade options.
Can I order metallic finishes for the faces or suction cover?
No. The new models are only offered with matching color components. Color offering for bathing and showering fixtures made of Vikrell includes white, bone, almond, ice grey and biscuit. Are the new models UL certified? All models, including the new Acclaim whirlpool, are UL certified. They are not, CSA (Canada) or NOM (Mexico) certified at this time.
Will the Sterling whirlpools be added to the Kohler Whirlpool Express program?
Not at this time. Sterling is evaluating the possibility of including its whirlpool offering into the Kohler Express program.
